William Dennis “Uncle Bill” Cottrell joined Disney in 1929. He worked as a cameraman, a cutter and animation director, and a sequence director. He became vice president of WED Enterprises in 1952 and president in 1964. While wit WED Enterprises, he worked on the planning and construction of Disneyland. He retired in 1982 and was named a Disney Legend in 1994.
