Roy Edward Disney was the son of Roy Oliver Disney and nephew of Walter Elias Disney. Born in 1930, Roy began working for the Disney company in 1954 as an assistant film editor. He wrote narration, directed, and produced many Disney shows. After a hiatus from the company, he returned in 1984 as vice chairman of the board,and head of the animation department. He was named a Disney Legend in 1998. He resigned in 2003 and was named director emeritus and a consultant in 2005. He died in 2009.
